Watch those interest rates
Many will have savings tucked away, perhaps in ISAs or in standard savings accounts.
Despite 9 interest rates in 2022, and the highest base rate for 14 years, standing at 3.25% currently, many banks and institutions are very slow to pass interest rate rises onto savers.
When did you last look at the interest rates being paid on your accounts and shop around for better deals?
It might be worthwhile using some of those funds to pay off debts or reduce the mortgage, as interest payable on loans will be significantly higher than that being earned.
